Recognizing the importance of water resources, we prioritize the reduction of water usage and implement the following initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Initiatives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promotion of water circulation and reuse within production processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improved efficiency in the use of cooling water and other utilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proper management of wastewater quality and compliance with applicable regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction of water-saving equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through continuous improvement to reduce water usage, we work to mitigate business continuity risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reduction of Environmental Impact in Packaging Materials<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To reduce environmental impact from the packaging of medical devices and consumables, we promote the following initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adoption of Biomass Materials<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Plant-derived biomass plastics are used for cushioning materials, reducing dependence on fossil resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Integrated Cushioning Packaging<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Paper-based packaging structures with built-in cushioning functions are adopted to eliminate plastic cushioning materials and reduce waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Horizontal Recycling of Label Backing Paper<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We participate in recycling projects for label release liner paper, reducing incineration and final disposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use of Sustainable Forest Resources<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Certified paper materials are used for individual product packaging boxes, thereby contributing to sustainable forest management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Plastic Reduction (Kitazato Blue Project)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To promote plastic reduction, we implement the following initiatives under the <em>Kitazato Blue Project<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reduction of plastic bottle usage within the Company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distribution of reusable bottles to all employees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduction and monitoring of plastic waste volumes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementation of internal and external awareness-raising activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Resource Circulation and Logistics Optimization<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Environmental considerations are also promoted within the logistics function as a mechanism supporting resource circulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Initiatives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduction and expansion of recycled plastic pallets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduction of materials through the standardization of packaging<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduction of CO\u2082 emissions through improved transportation efficiency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"link03\">External Recognition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These initiatives have been highly recognized in regional environmental and recycling activities.
