Labor Practices

Basic Approach

As a company engaged in reproductive medicine, Kitazato Corporation places great importance on creating an environment in which each employee can work with confidence and fully demonstrate their abilities.

In a society facing a declining birthrate and an aging population, sustainable growth requires workplaces where diverse talent can thrive regardless of gender, age, or nationality.
Guided by the belief that “the future of life is supported by the strength of each employee,” we promote labor practices that enable diverse individuals to grow and succeed.

Optimization of Work Styles and Working Hours Management

Given the highly specialized nature of our operations—including manufacturing, research, and sales of reproductive medical devices—we continuously promote work-style reforms to balance productivity and work comfort.

  • Ensure clear separation of work and private time and strengthen controls on overtime work
  • Guide by occupational physicians for employees whose overtime exceeds designated thresholds

As long working hours may negatively affect physical and mental health, we work to prevent excessive workloads through initiatives such as visualizing working hours and the appropriate allocation of tasks.

Initiatives to Prevent Excessive Workloads

  • Review and streamline work processes and improve efficiency through digital tools
  • Conduct interviews and provide improvement support for departments prone to long working hours
  • Deliver annual training on working hours management
  • Promote awareness through top messages from management

Compensation Practices

Kitazato Corporation strictly complies with laws and regulations related to wages and ensures that compensation does not fall below the minimum wage.

  • Verify compliance at the time of wage payments and minimum wage revisions
  • Operate a fair compensation structure in accordance with laws and internal regulations

Labor–Management Communication

We place importance on dialogue between management and employees to promote mutual understanding.

  • Hold labor–management councils quarterly
  • Provide regular opportunities for employees to raise questions and express opinions to management
  • Promote transparent and constructive dialogue

Labor Practices at Overseas Operations

At overseas subsidiaries (e.g., in the United States and China), we actively promote local hiring and foster employment rooted in local communities.

We maintain an organizational structure in which local employees outnumber expatriates and conduct operations that respect local cultures and practices.

Promotion of Work–Life Balance

To enable employees to work energetically and fully demonstrate their capabilities, we promote systems and workplace environments that support work–life balance.

Engagement Systems

To enable employees who have left the Company due to life events such as marriage or relocation to return and contribute once again, we have expanded our reemployment system.

Reemployment may be initiated either at the employee’s request or at the Company’s invitation, supporting the continuation of careers that leverage prior experience.

Compliance with Labor Standards

  • Strictly comply with the Labor Standards Act and related laws and regulations
  • Maintain zero violations
  • Ensure safe and healthy working environments
